GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Network/Telecommunications Specialist will be responsible for supporting the computer network and telecommunications infrastructure of the Stockbridge-Munsee Community. This position includes support of network hardware and software, telephones and cell phones.

DUTIES:

  1. Install, configure and maintain the Stockbridge-Munsee Community’s computer network infrastructure including local-area, wide-area and peer-to-peer networks.
  2. Perform hardware and software upgrades to network servers.
  3. Administer Active Directory and network policies.
  4. Administer internal e-mail system.
  5. Setup and monitor system backups on all network servers.
  6. Setup and monitor security of network infrastructure.
  7. Support other network hardware including printers, routers, switches, hubs, firewalls and cabling.
  8. Provide end-user support related to network and telephone connectivity.
  9. Coordinate all telephone and cell phone changes.
  10. Analyze telephone and cell phone systems for efficient usage.
  11. Research, recommend, install and support new, cost-effective network and telecommunications technology as it relates to the operations of the Stockbridge-Munsee Community.
  12. Coordinate with MIS Site Coordinators at Mohican North Star Casino and Stockbridge-Munsee Health and Wellness Center when necessary.
  13. Must perform assigned duties in a timely manner with minimum supervision.
  14. Must be able to work with a variety of people with diverse personalities.
  15. Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  16. Must maintain an acceptable departmental attendance record.
  17. Must be reliable and prompt when reporting to work.
  18. Must attend all training provided by the employer.
  19. Must attend all meetings as required by the employer.
  20. Must adhere to all established rules, regulations, procedures, and policies of the Stockbridge-Munsee Community.
  21. Must participate in the employee random drug-testing program.
  22. All other duties as assigned by the employer.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field is required.
  2. Two years of work experience performing similar duties as those listed is required.
  3. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Veritas Backup Exec, Citrix, Terminal Services, Microsoft Exchange and Symantec Anti-Virus is required.
  4. Working knowledge of network hardware such as servers, routers, switches, hubs, firewalls and cabling is required.
  5. Working knowledge of Microsoft and HP diagnostic tools and MS SQL Server is preferred.
  6. Working knowledge of telecommunications hardware such as telephone switches, T1 circuits and cabling is preferred.
  7. Experience with voice-over-IP systems is preferred.
  8. Network and telecommunications certifications are preferred.
  9. Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  10. Must have a valid Wisconsin Driver’s license and must meet the driver acceptability guidelines as established by the Mohican Nation Insurance.
  11. Must have reliable transportation.
  12. Must submit to a Criminal Investigation Background Check.
  13. Must obtain and maintain coverage under the employer’s Employee Dishonesty policy.
  14. Must submit and pass pre-employment drug and health screening.
  15. Must have demonstrated ability to maintain satisfactory working record in any prior or current employment.
