This nature trail was funded through a grant for the U.S. Department of Agricultural, Natural Resource Conservation Service, (NRCS). Construction has been a combined effort of the Stockbridge-Munsee Conservation, Forestry & Environmental Departments, with assistance from the Roads and Land Use Departments.
It has been proposed that the trail be named to honor the achievements of a Tribal Leader, Reggie Miller who, as chairman, was instrumental in obtaining funding and establishing the first environmental and water office. Formal adoption of this has not yet been pursued.
As the forest grows and changes so will the trail and the interpretative signs placed along the way. Please visit the trail, located along the Stockbridge-Munsee Clinic road, and take nothing but memories and leave only footprints.
While using the trail, please stop and listen to the wilds sounds around you. Look carefully for all manner of wildlife and plants, both large and small. Tiny seedlings and mighty oaks can be be found along the trail.
