Stream Restoration - 2004 TWG

Trout stream habitat improvements were initiated on several streams in 2004 as part of a U.S. Fish & Wildlife – Tribal Wildlife Grant award. Stream restoration activities took place in the stream between the Spring Hole and the West Branch of the Red River, Miller Creek and Slicky Creek. Stream improvements resulting from debris removal are very evident. Increased stream flow resulting from debris removal has exposed gravel bottoms in many stretches of the streams. Vast numbers of different minnow species can now be observed along restored stream areas, and trout have begun to occupy a number of the deeper pools.
