USFWS Partners Grant – Phase II
The Stockbridge-Munsee Community worked with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service under a Partners Grant to narrow, deepen and add meanders to the Red River. Phase two was completed summer of 2007. The project located immediately downstream of Phase I – narrowed, deepened and added four hundred 3-6’ boulders along 800 meters of the river. Cooler, faster moving water will make this area more favorable for trout to live in. The following images show the project during construction. Please note: the visual appearance during construction is very temporary! – Please look at Phase I gallery to see results after one year.
