Mohican Nation Police:
The Stockbridge-Munsee Indian Tribe has
a Cooperative Law Enforcement Agreement with Shawano County. The
Stockbridge-Munsee also have contracts with the neighboring villages of Gresham
and Bowler to provide Law Enforcement services. This has allowed the
Stockbridge-Munsee the ability to develop and maintain a Police Department. The
Deputies are deputized by Shawano County and are Wisconsin State Certified Law
Enforcement Officers. There are currently three Tribal Deputies in the Patrol
Division and the Director who handle the investigative duties. The Director
spends most of his time with Public Safety Division responsibilities, but has
the ability to act as one of the Tribal Deputies and from time to time has been
able to respond to and handle various complaints.

Volunteer Fire Department:
The Stockbridge-Munsee Community is serviced by
a Volunteer Fire Department. The Fire Department is supervised by Schyler
Martin and has 13 active members. The Fire Chief is Dudley Welch.
The fire department is always recruiting personnel, if interested please contact
